forward facing rear seat idea club cab
forward facing rear seat idea club cab
I haven't been on much lately because the trucks been parked wait for some new control arm brackets but I have been driving a club cab dakota. Whats that have to do with a first gen cummins ram you might be wondering. Well if the title didn't give it away They have a forward facing rear seat in what can't be any more room that what a first gen ram has to offer. I haven't measured yet because the ram is to far away for me to even think about right now but the dakotas have a 60/40 bottom cushion with a full width top mounted right to the back of the cab. I'm thinking that if you can find 2 60 sections they will be pretty close to the right width and then you just have to talk someone into sowing the back section together in a wider form. I have 1 dakota parts truck at home too so if I have any time this summer I might try this idea out but I figured someone else might want to try it or at least measure it up so see if I'm way off base or not in the mean time.
I just bought an aftermarket rear bench seat from a member over at Competition Diesel. They were made by a company in Canada sometime late70's -80's. I have searched for a while and finally found one and it even mathes my interior. I was going to use the back seat from my 2001 Ram but found this instead. The 2nd Gen. rear seat has floor brackets that unbolt and look like they would be close to fitting but I don't think anyone under 5 years old could fit back their. The front of the rear seat would be awfully close the rear of the front seats. Good luck.

I figured out how to put a back seat in that will fit 3 full size adults! A Crew Cab!
I had a 75 Club cab with a split bench. I tried everything I could try to put a forward facing seat in that would actually hold more than a coulpe amputees. I could not do it. not enough room. Small kids? Perhaps. But not adults. Not "comfortably" Meaning not for more than a trip to the store.
