Flame from exhaust?

Last night me and some friends were out driving around and my friend Dan got into the bed of my truck and wanted to record a video of the smoke with his cell phone.

I did a 5lb 4wd boosted launch and as soon as i hit full boost i was getting 8 inch bright blue flames out the exhaust that looked like a big butane torch.

Ive never noticed it before yet I haven't ever really checked. Is this normal or is something wrong?

The truck runs great and I'm not noticing any power loss or anything?

Diesels will put out a flame if they are running rich enough. Usually it's orange/red though.

My old International 6.9 would flame out the stacks under certain conditions with a big load of cattle; I never noticed it when empty.

The flame was constant once acheived, though.

No flames from the 5.9 that I have seen yet.

A flame is normal on a overfueled truck esp if you can peg the pyro. Like Wanna said it usually a orangeish red tho. Mine does it when ever she gets above 1400 degrees, theres nothing like carbon being burnt of the walls of the exhaust. More timing or water will take it right away.

If you are spraying meth, the flame will be blue. Otherwise it's bright orange.

My pyro wasn't at more than 900 at the time and normally i cant get my pyro over 1200-1300 degrees. I have water meth installed but only use it on dyno days.

Any other reasons anyone can think of? I just dont want to be burning my engine up.

Check your exhaust valve clearances. They might be a little tight.
