First valve adjustment

I adjusted my valves today, I think it was the first time it had been done since the truck left the dealership. All the valves were out close to twice what there they were supposed to be. It's amazing what having properly adjusted valves will do for the way a truck runs and idles, I can't believe how smooth this thing runs now. I highly recommend that if you have never checked the valve clearance's on your engine it's definitely worth your time.

Mine are in dire need of adjustment after I flogged the engine at the drag strip!

Depends on the method, but usually about an hour. I check mine three times just to make sure I have them right. I set them twice, start it for a little bit, shut it down and check them again. It's probably overkill, but I had a 426 HEMI and got used to running the valves....

I think it took me around a half hour, maybe forty five minutes. I didn't triple check everything though. It's really not that bad, I used somebodies method where you put two screw's in the injection pump pulley and line them up with one of the timing cover bolts, it works great. Just do a search on hear for valve adjustment, it should come up.

my buddy did mine. he works at peterbilt. but after i saw him do it hungover we could have done it in 45 minutes. a rule of thumb he told me when you get done make sure all the pushrods spin easily he has seen guys not have them in the tip of the rocker and blow the pushrod sky high double check all of the lock nuts and you should be golden.
