Talking Finally! A place for my spare tire and more!

Well Ive been running around without a spare because I was missing all of the junk underneath plus who wants to crawl under a truck when the pavement is 150 degrees here in AZ. I pulled a solution from my jeeping days and decided to take matters into my own hands and build a solution. I used the latching hardware from a H2 Hummer, giving me some sweet d-rings and a ultra smooth latch/hinge. Added a 2x6", 3/16 wall bumper and viola! a full size swing away tire carrier. I have to say its sweeter than I expected!!! Now for a jerry can and a real spare...

I need help!

With that last image, the first thing that came to mind was "Depth-Charger" for that pesky tail-gater.

That is nice though.

Looks good. The only negatives that I see is that your bumper no longer protects your tailgate in the event of a rear-ender and you'll have to be careful backing up close to trees, poles, buildings, etc. Good job.

Yeah, if I could only trigger its release in the cab!

As far as rear ending, it would have to be a taller vehicle plus ive seen most bumpers pushed up and into the bed and tailgate because cars go under it! I lifted the rear of my truck up with a hoist in this configuration, couldnt do that with the stock bumper. Trees??? I live in az, the only trees are the ones people plant in their yard!!!

Yup, I think I will try some 305's cause 315's seem like they would require a little trimming.
