Fall is official in Denver

Well guys it finally happened... the grid heaters kicked over for the first time this season. That brings me to an interesting topic... "Winterizing" the truck. What do you think are the best things to do? This weekend for me includes

LOF, checking brakes, packing bearings, changing diff fluid, changing fuel filter, checking cooling system and coolant protection, HVAC and checking charging system.

Anything I missed??? What do you guys think?

Yea i've been having a problem with wiper blades popping off the arms so make sure you get some high quality wiper blades for that frost.

Ha...I'd say any maintenance you've been planning or putting off...would you rather do it now, when it's 60 out, or in a month or two when it's 30 out?

No Grids Here...

I removed the grid heaters three years ago.

Think I'm going to install a little check valve in the intake with a line running into the cab so I can do an ether shot with minimal fuss and without needing to pop the hood.

...For those every once in awhile surprise days or nights when it gets colder than expected and I should have drove something else.

I like to change windshield wipers once a year, but not until October.

FALL???????????????? We just set a record yesterday, the day before and probably today and it is the latest in history for 110 plus here. It makes me wonder about how all those hot places like Atlanta or Florida are doing now ....We are the HEAT KINGS around here no doubt...Mark

Where is the "grid heater"?? Is that the thing you plug the extension cord into?

it is not officially fall untill the snow falls

I just throw a set of coveralls in the truck along with a hat and gloves, oh and add a little extra fuel treatment to the red fuel.

I also got a big jug of that diesel 911 just in case.

Actually, my truck sits during the winter. I have a winter beater to drive instead. My truck makes weird noises when it goes below zero.
