Factory A/C into a non-A/C truck
Factory A/C into a non-A/C truck
Picked up all the interior stuff from an A/C equipped truck to put into my truck that appaerently was ordered espacially without A/C by the original owner.
I have the complete airbox, all ducts and vents, controls and complete dash wiring harness. Nothing was cut or hacked. Any good tips on how to get out the screws at the bottom of the windsheild?
Any advice on what to use under the hood for condensor and pump? I guess the factory pump would be easiset but a little harder to find, I have a welder a can make brackets if there is a better choice.
Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanx.

I am doing the exact same thing you are...I don't yet have the compressor, and I am missing the one wiring harness that plugs into the back of the selector switch panel. As for the screws under the windshield, you've gotta take the windshield out...isn't that nuts? That's the only way I know of to do it...good luck not breaking it...I tried to be really careful with mine, but I got a small crack, and it just grew as I went, so I put my feet on the inside and pushed...I needed a new one anyway. Let me know how it goes, gotta finish the under the hood stuff on mine one of these days. Good luck,

Had to pull it right out eh? Hmm, I hope it doesn't come to that. The guy who removed the system said he trimmed the rubber around the screw and was able to get it out that way. I'm not sure if that would cause the seal to leak or not though. It was a wrecked unit anyway so he wasn't too concerned about it.
i trimmed mine a couple of months ago to get the the heater core and replace it and the condensor. i havent had any leaks of any type from the window, it was just time consuming sitting there hacking away at the window rubber. but it beats having to replace the window and rubber!
