exhaust housing

Unhappy exhaust housing

can someone tell me what exhuast housing came on a 1991 d350 dulley non intercooled I have installed a hx35w 12cm2 & intercooler but egts go up rapidly when iam on the throttle i can find no #s on the housing but i think it is a 18cm2

Non-intercooled trucks came with an 18.5.

Thanks I think iam going to try it because im towing toy trailer 16k although ihave not hooked trailer with current set up im sure it will be to hot

You could more than likely go to a 16cm housing, and still be able to tow heavy.

30lbs with waste gate hooked up I have a fuel shut off valve from a small engine installed in the hose to the waste gate that i can adjust or turn off this gives me approx. 42 lbs with no load runs very well when shut off

It's the part of the turbo that bolts to the exhaust manifold. It's also known as a turbine housing or a hot side. The size of the turbine housing has a lot of influence on how quick the turbo spools up. Smaller = faster spool and more boost, but at the expense of added backpressure.
