Not really sure, but here's your bump Maybe a connector for an option your truck doesn't have, like power mirrors or something?

Do you have an electric brake box? Might have been something someone had in there for a brake box, and they removed the brake box and kept the wiring in there?

I can't speak from experience for the Dodges, but the Ford trucks have a bunch of un-used plugs/wires, both under the hood and behind the dash, on account of them making only one wiring harness for both gas and diesel trucks.

The un-used plugs on the diesel trucks are necessary for the gas trucks and vice-versa.

Is there a notch taken out of one side of the connector?
There is a 7-cavity connector by the fuse panel that connects to the combination Lights On, Key in Ignition buzzer and it is also natural in color.

Is there a buzzing sound when the key is in the ignition switch and the door is open, Might it be this?

Here are some scanned images thanks to another member, they are in the Sticky

You might want to save them to a file so you can open them to a larger window using Microsoft Photo Editor.
