driveline rumble
I just put a rebuilt trans in with new clutch, and I hear a rumble from the driveline that is most pronounced when you are "floating" the driveline, I cant hear it under accel because its so **** loud inside and nothing really pronounced with decel. Only when you unload the driveline does it rumble. I checked and greased all the Ujoints, all the fluids are full. No updown play in the rear diff Yoke.. Any Ideas....?
thanks,
thanks,

Sounds lame but I usually mark all the yokes/ujoints so they go back in the exact same spot. Do you get any buzz with it in N and the RPMs up? like a unbalanced clutch assembly? Just a thought. BTY Merry Christmas!!!!!!!.

With the club cab, you have a 2 piece driveline. to further what Apache said, drivelines are timed. the yokes should line up. when you spline the 2 together make sure your caps, or yokes are straight across from one another.
does it do it if you put it in nuetral at road speed and let the engine idle. if so it would eleminate the clutch and front half of transmission.
Good luck

I dont hear it under acceleration on a higher RPM decel, it mainly with light throttle or floating the driveline.... I guess Ill triple check everything again. The tranny was just redone and feels really good, mabey I didnt get a u-joint lined up right, but youd think it wound make more noise under a load....

Pull it apart at the slip joint(s) and line up the yokes with each other. Did you pull the driveline apart at the slip during your tranny work? If not then that's probably not where your problem is. Did you check all the u-joints to see if they're tight?
