"Rumble Bee" OEM Hood Scoop......

Just now got around to getting pics posted (gallery) of my new OEM "Rumble Bee" hood scoop addition. The hood scoop was on back order for quite a few weeks, but it was worth the wait in my opinion. I've already gotten quite a few compliments and a few people rubber-necking alot ! This is the primered version; it's part number 82208576, "Scoop Kit"; it lists for $329 but I ordered mine from the dealer for $296.40. I'm sure the pre-painted ones are more, provided your truck is the same color as what's offered. Sales tax was $17.78 and I had a friend with a body shop nearby paint, clearcoat, and install for $85.00 so I have $399.18 in it.
It is secured to the hood with six bolts, and it has a very nice idiot proof template for the hole drilling.

Thanks for posting the pic, Shovelhead ! One of these days I'll learn how to do neat things like that.
Ole dodgeboy59td (Cynthiana, KY) has an '05 Dodge 2500 CTD Crew Cab Black Sport on order right now. He's already expressed interest in one, so you'll see one on his truck soon !

I don't understand spending that kind of money, if it does nothing for the function of the truck??

Sweeet!... I wonder if the chrome "C" from the fender would fit on the side of that scoop provided you split off the "turbo diesel" and put it on the side rather than the bottom???

I think it ads at least 45hp just by having it put on the truck... Just like big stickers plastered all over like ricers....

I have seen fiber glass hoods on Hemis that are functional air scoops. They bring the air into an output area around the Hemi air box. From what I saw this is a very functional scoop with matching box for air filter. This is not far from where the Cummins air box is located. Has anyone seen a functional air/cowl scoop system on a new body cummins????

As far as functional hood scoops go...... There is supposed to be a new "shaker" style cowl induction hood scoop to go on our trucks. I don't know if it is available yet. It's made by Scotty, and includes dual filters and all the plumbing.

If anyone knows more about it, please chime in!!

If I had to explain it to you, you just would not understand. There is more to life and the ownership of a truck than just function. Some times looks are as important as function. I know having the SRT-10 hood on my truck doesn't make it run any better or faster but it also doesn't look like yours either. In a small town that has 4 white gen.3 DRW 4x4's being a little different is a good thing. The one thing the SRT-10 hood has over the Rumble Bee scoop is that it is functional. It might not help much for air flow into the engine but it helps lower the under hood temp

Looking diferent is GOOD. I am still bone stock and it is killing me. I need something to set it apart from every other truck in town. My only problem is once I start I cant stop. I may have to sell one of my ATVs to pay for the cosmetic mods I want.

I think they look great but that look is not for me. I like to be more stealth. Why draw more attention to yourself. My 04 Cobra get's me in enough trouble.
