Downshifting

Lately my 93 auto has been downshifting out of overdrive when I let off the go pedel. When upshifting from a start either half or full throttle it shifts fine all the way through overdrive. It will downshift if I chop the throttle at less than 50mph. It never used to downshift until it reached 35mph. This makes it hard to drive at 45 because it hunts with each chop of the thottle. I would normally expect the TPS but it upshifts fine.
thanx
Re:Downshifting

It probably still is the TPS. Major problems with the TPS and overdrive. Problem is, the TPS costs astronomical dollars. It is about $140 at the dealer. Being a mechanic for over 30 years, I know that it is a simple volume control (potentiometer) that should cost less than $30.00. You can buy the same value resistance potentiometer at Radio shack for $3.00
Problem is hooking it up to the pump shaft.
I drilled a hole in mine and shot wd40 into it to clean it. Been working fine eversince I did it. Sealed the hole later with silicone sealer.
