dodge tranny rebuild


Hi name is Jim and I'm new on here.. I have never rebuilt a manual tranny. I need to rebuild my Getrag G360 5 speed. Please if anyone can give my a little help or alot of help I would most welcome it.

First you'll need someone to email you the pdf getrag rebuild manual. It's not that tough. You'll need a dial caliper to set up preload. Either a press, large two jar puller and bearing splitter to take the gears and bearings off the mainshaft. Some have used a die grinder to cut the bearings off as well.

Hi Jim, I just started taking mine apart today and it is my first Getrag rebuild. I'll keep you posted to my success or failure. I just pulled the top off it and will be working my way in tonight. I am taking pictures as I go so I'll try to get them on here.

Thanks for the information for rebuilding my tranny. It help me take it apart, but then I had a friend who owns a tranny shop do the press work and put it back together.

Ziploc baggies!!!! seperate bolts and any loose parts and bolts, then mark them with a permanent marker. Makes it easier during reassembly!
