I have a 91 non ic and it has the 91.5 to 93 grille on it but not chromed out and its cracked, can i get the ic chromed out grille to fit on my truck. And can you still get a new grille with DODGE on the front. I know some of them have no letters on it. Thanks. The Sarge

Yes, it will fit. You can still get an OEM grille and the letters from Chrysler.

My truck has the grille without the Dodge letters...I really want them. Those and the Ram hood ornament.

The aftermarket grilles don't have the recesses for the letters. You can stick the letters on an aftermarket grille but it winds up looking like - well, like you stuck letters on the grille.

custom inserts

Does anyone make custom grille inserts, like stainless steel billet style, or do i need to get out the welder?

I used the plastic/rubber edging that you buy for the edges of your doors and stuck them over the plastic "billets." They look good from a distance, but peel, and fall off occasionaly.

RD made one for his truck, and said he would make others but he hasnt got back to me, and his looks awsome, its removes the black inserts and you swap in the steel billet one, very cool

Here's what I did. Just used some stamped cloverleaf aluminum from Lowes. I was gonna make them for some people, but I dont even have the time to tighten my passenger side mirror .

Here's how I did mine -

I was replacing the 'trans cooler' with a 9"x11" and the inserts got in the way.

I also replaced the turn signals because the one on the passenger side is now a fresh air intake straight to my filter.
See this thread:

It's comment #8, the first pic.

It rain gutter leaf cover - ~ $3 each and one is needed for each insert. They're just short of fitting 2 inserts.

Where can you buy a replacement chrome grill frame? I went to a nearby auto warehouse to see what they had. The company avertised the grill frames as being chrome. When I drove down to look........they were not chrome, just spray-painted silver! I would like to get the non-lettered chrome replacement grill frame. Does any online companies carry this item? I've seen them on 1st gen pickups running around. When it comes time to buy one, I just don't want to get tricked and get a silver painted one!

Not to hijack this but the last time I had my truck in the body shop on inspection we found a hairline crack in the grille so we had it replaced, the grille was only 6 months old.

Anyhow I was there again last week and I noticed the new grille also has a small crack just in front of one of the 2 tabs where it mounts to the radiator support the same as the last one.
Has anyone else noticed any cracks on his or her grilles it this immediate vicinity?

I am thinking it is caused from the harsh ride of the suspension, so now I have an extra nice new factory grille sitting in my garage.
Back to your regular broadcast.
