Divide or Not!

I was looking through members photos and I saw where some of you guys have cut out some of the divider web in their turbo housing. Why do you doo this and what benefit would I see for this surgery?

this is done on the waste gated housings so that you can waste all 6 cylinders not just 3

You won't gain any benefit with a non W/G housing, as Mark said. The idea on the WG housings is to provide a restriction-free path to the wastegate (that should be enlarged to see the full benefit). My divider is completely removed and the wategate hole is opened up to dang near the diameter of the flapper itself, VS the 1/3 smaller size that it originally was. The mod works. With a maxed pump, ground AFC foot and non IC injectors, my itty bitty 12cm will hold the engine to 28psi even if I mash it in 5th at 1500

Whew! there I was afraid that I would need to remove the exhaust housing again. The first and last time I did that was a religous experience not wanting to be repeated.
