Fuel additives and belt howl

What is this "blue stuff" i keep reading about at wally world? Im guessing wallys is walmart but ive been there and never found diesel fuel additives. There are a few different types of additives at the local napa too. whats the best stuff in ya'lls experience? Also i was flushing my radiator and when i finished the engine was squeeling somthin fierce. i thought it was the water pump but someone said put soap on the belt. this worked but did it fix the problem or just cover it up

There is are a couple of "blue stuffs" at Wally World (Walmart). My guess is Star*Tron Enzyme Fuel treatment. I am looking at a bottle right now and haven't tried it. It is for gas in the boat. Walmart has a few diesel fuel treats. I've tried PS but can't tell if it is that helpful or not. I have used mostly Lucas fuel injector cleaner. It has served me well, as I haven't replaced the IP yet. I ran out the last fill up so I am going to give Marvel Mystery oil a try. One gallon of MM treats 400 gallons of fuel according to the can and it is cheaper than Lucas.

i was thinking about getting tthat stuff as i have a 100 gal aux tank. so anything that treats 100+ is a-ok in my book. At least i think it was Marvel Mystery stuff. CYA incase thats just a nickname for it that goes way over my head . How much is that stuff? Any word on soaping my belt?

All that soaping the belts does is hide the noise for about 2 weeks. When the soap wears off, the noise will return. Most of the more shady used car dealerships use this technique.

If the squealing just started when you flushed the radiator, it will quite down, once you wear off the anti-freeze that got splashed on it.

Keep an ear for the squealing. If it persists, you could have a water pump weep hole problem. Easy fix, and not that costly, but it's something to stay on top of. When they go, they GO.

If you stand in fron to fthe engine compartment, look to teh right and belwo where the upper radiator hose connects to teh thermostat housing.. the weep hole is down there..
If it is leaking, you should be able to see a trickle of antifreeze running down the front of the block by looking straight down the engine. a leaking waterpump can cause the squealing your experiencing...antifreeze on the belt makes a loud squeal.....
