What is considered high and what is normal? Dont have a guage yet but want one when the money comes (if ever)

 

Well...this could open a big can o worms.

"Normal" would be coolant temp since the coolant cools the transmission. So right around 185*. Mine seems to settle in at 160* going down the road (that's in the pan).

"High" would be, to me, anything over something like 250*. Sure, your temp is going to go up and down depending on load, etc. The temp sensor on the tranny cuts the O/D out at 280*. So technically that is "high" (from Chrysler's view).

I just saw a graph the other day. It more less said for every 10* cooler you can keep the fluid, you double the life of the fluid. And for every 20* cooler you can keep the fluid, you double the life of the transmission.

So...keep the fluid as cool as you can!
