Lightbulb A different Boost gauge, The Poor Mans Gauge

Could I use a oil pressure gauge as a effective boost gauge?? I was thinking a electronic send/analog dial setup. The only thing that would seem different is the symbol/words of oil. They both operate on the same principle and If I get a oil gauge with actual numbers I think it might work.

Has anyone done this, and if so, how did it work? Thanks

Yep, pressure is pressure. I don't know about the electric thing, but I've used boost gauges to read fuel pressure, oil pressure to read this, that etc.

I even used a $5 water pressure gauge from the hardware store for a while.

Check out

no tapping required. There are a pair of unused ports with 1/8" pipe plugs in them towards the front of the intake manifold, above the injection pump.

What he said. They usually have gauges in the correct range for around $10. As long as you don't mind that the gauge says "Water"...

My fuel pressure gauge is a water pressure gauge.

Also, directly underneath the air-intake horn is an eighth-inch plug.
