The debated Steering column mount

Several months ago, it was debated whether or not the 94-02 steering column gauge mount would work on all first gens. Some said only 92+, some said only on tilt equipped trucks. Well mine is an early 91 no tilt, and guess what it fits. And looks nice too. Once I get my water temp gauge in there I will post some pics.
And for reference:
Autometer PN 15012.

Just some prelim shots, before final mounting and wiring.

Plus, Im gonna settle on one gauge eventually. I like the ultralight, but I want to find something I can pull the face off to paint the needle blue, or go with the Isspro EV, white face/blue needle/chrome bezel, and get a black bezel. Either way I go, gonna have white face/blue needle/blue light, and black bezel. Any advice or gauge suggestions?

Looks like it will work on any column with plastic cladding.

If you have the old style metal column you are out of luck.

I think it turned out nice. Looks like it hides gauges in this pic, but it really doesnt. Now its time for my next pod experiment.

Would it be much trouble to get a sideways shot?

I have an Issopro tach and have considered putting it in that mount but I know that its too long. But I wouldn't mind cutting out the back and letting it all hang out if there's room to do so. Right now the tach is in a cup. Plus I have tilt and that may interfere with the cover maybe?

Your dash guages look nice. You got blue lights on them too?

Nice, I wanted to get one and find out if it did work or not. I was clueless as to why it was said why not with the non-tilt columns.
Lookin good, I like the whiteface OEM's too.

It has the hole for the tilt. Ill get some side shots in a bit, but the pod is long. They say to cut off the studs on the gauge, but I didnt have to and still had room behind the studs.

Hey Dave! Yeah, older column, no go, but this same # Autometer mount I have appears to fit up to like '98 I think? What determines fit is where the hazard flasher button is. Right along there(or maybe later) they moved it over to the center. Then you could get a double column gauge mount, sorta looks like frog eyes! In fact, I think the rice burner street racer-types call them that.
