dana 60 pinion nut size

ok so i tried taking off the pinion nut on the dana 60 and i cannot find the right size. i know it is 1 5/16 however the socket will not fit in deep enough to get the nut out because the yoke is in the way. i was using a 3/4 inch drive would a half inch be any different if it isnt im stumped. thanks

Last one I messed with was 2-5/16, or maybe it was 1-5/16, if I remember correctly.

I think he was talking about the wheel bearing nuts.

The pinion is a 1-5/16". You need a thin wall socket to get it with a ratchet.
I have had luck using the common 3/4" setup and pushing in really hard while blasting it with the impact.

I'll correct myself when I confirm the socket I have. It's 60 miles away in a buddies shop right now...

The 1 5/16 socket from NAPA's 3/4 drive Evercraft socket set will fit. I ended up buying the whole set but my local store offered to sell me the socket only for about $15.
