Cutting/welding downpipe

I'm doing a swap and have some clearance problems with the downpipe. Are there any special cautions on cutting and rewelding sections of the down pipe to change angles and clearances? Thanks....!

Nope. As long as it fits without putting any strain on the turbo you are good. Make sure the downpipe is solidly attached to the bellhousing so that the strain is taken there rather than up at the turbo.

Thanks! The pipe wasn't supported anywhere near the bell in original install but that sure would make me feel better having it attached there. I figured if it was okay to cut it for an exhaust brake it shouldn't hurt to do so for fitment but best to check first....
