Nitrous

There seems to be a lot of discussion here about Water/Methanol injection, but I've yet to see anyone running nitrous. Does our VE pumps not move enough fuel to make nitrous work, or has no one had the desire to try?

Nitrous is pretty pricey compared to water/meth. It would be much more effective.

I think a nitrous/meth setup would be crazy fast. The methanol would supply the extra (and slower burning) fuel that the NOx needs.
Hmmmmmmm

It's my understanding that nitrous is much more forgiving with a diesel engine. Since detonation is hardly a concern and the more air the better, nitrous will simply add power to the point that you run out of fuel.... add more fuel and then continue to increase nitrous, so on and so forth.

Hey Guys,

Some things to know about nitrous on your diesel.

Every one that I heard of the tried W/M and N2O looked like this after it blew. Little ice cubes in your intake is a

It's hard on the shaft in your turbo because it spools them So quick.

It's expensive also. In my area it's $50.00 for a 10LB bottle.

Death Dealer is right on with you have to be over fueled for it to work for you.
It is also Way more forgiving in a diesel than a gasser.

Keep increasing the jet until it clears up the smoke.

Zero turbo lag! Instant tire SHREDDING power!

It Flat out ROCKS!!!!

See my plans here https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=113469

If you need more info let me know.

Thanks
Brenden

nitrous seems like a quick and dirty way to make some serious power. I've got a stock turbo with the gignatic housing....... maybe this housing is just about right with a massive amount of fuel, a stage IV HTT impeller and a dollop of nitrous.

If I were you, I would work on the fuel side

Add as much as you can, as long as the truck works for you. With what you use it for like, towing or hauling.

Then you can add the N2O for the air side of the equation.

I also wouldn't upgrade to a bigger wheel unless you need it for how you use the truck. It will put more stress on the shaft because of the added mass and how quick you can you will spool it.

Thanks,
Brenden
