I then had to spend a couple hours carefully modifying the hood catch. I had to cut out about 3/4" I guess. But through it all I had to carefully alter things to clear.





I also filed down the tabs at the back. This allowed the hook to roll inwards a bit more towards the rad support, and give it a little extra help in clearing.



I would be more specific on what I did...but this all depends on how you go about installing your PS IC. Some people have not had to alter the hood catch, many do have to alter theirs.

It's late...I'm done updating for tonight. Maybe one more evening i will be caught up. That is if I don't get a bunch more stuff done in the mean time....

I'm more impressed all the time! And I agree with the others, I kinda like the exposed roof screws. How did you hold those panels up there while you attached?

Looks like the great white north has warmed up some?

really looking good. one more keep the roof screws. paint them with clear coat or nail polish so they don't rust though.

I had my friend, and neighbour, hold them up in place while I put 4 screws in place. Then it was just me and the screws from there.

As for warming up....The west coast of Canada never really got much of a winter this year. We rarely get more then a few days of cold and/or snow.

Nail polish clear coat....I had not though of that...Thanks!!

If you have chrome accents in the interior, you could just switch the screws to stainless, no ?

I use these finishing washers on a lot of things when I want to either accentuate, or make exposed screws look more presentable. Usually, inside a cabinet, or other piece of furniture. Don't really use them on upper cabs, as they distort easily with a lot of weight / stress on the screws, but for self supporting cabinets, they work great.

I use a lot of stainless. but when I use black oxide I use a clear coat. sometimes matt other gloss. when I do a bunch I poke holes in a piece of cardboard to make it easier to get the top and sides at once.

Tman....I thought about those...but I did not really like the look. I was thinking of going to a chrome washer head screw to replace the black ones I have in there now. But the black screws contrasting with the white is starting to grow on me.

I think I will do as Mark suggested...hit them with some clear nail polish.

I use clear nail polish on all the fasteners on my Harley. Keeps rust away.

It also works well as a small screw thread locker.
