Crank Sensor

Does any body have the specs for the needed clearance between the crank sensor and the front pulley> I'am replaceing the crank sensor on my 1993 D-250, hopefully that will solve the charging problem, PO replaced the ECM, alt, and the crank sensor but still had the problem, but he routed the crank sensor wire throgh the belt and looks like the first time he fired it up it pinched and tore the crank sensor wires. But where they where pinched it still looked like it was hooked up. Any help would be great.

The gap sould be 0.050". Measure it with a brass feeler gauge, or fold a matchbook cover in half for a "close enough" setting.

Sensor-to-vibration damper air gap is: 1.25mm (.049 in.) minimum to 1.30mm (.051 in.) maximum.

Place the feeler gauge between the sensor and the vibration dampener.
Gently seat (push down) the sensor until it contacts the feeler gauge. Be sure the sensor is not near either of the notches on the vibration dampener. If sensor is adjusted at or near these notches. it will be damaged when engine is started.
Tighten sensor mounting nuts to 18ft/lbs torque.
Hope this helps.
