'Cause it got moved from the FAQ to the wiki and nobody told me about it. The link is fixed now. If somebody with lots of time on their hands (Brandon?) wants to go through the sticky and make a list of other broken links I'd sure appreciate it.

How common is this problem? I have had 2 trucks, my dad 3, and my brother 1! Niether of us has ever heard of this before! Did dodge have a recall on it? Thanks DNR, your pics really help to look for the problem! Robert

It is pretty common, I have three trucks and they all have/had it... I only fixed the one pictured above.. Squeaky dash is the first sign... I didn't even know there was a problem untill I joined the site...

i can't wait to do this fix on mine. i've gotta do it on both the passenger and driver side. i heard somewhere they still have a kit for the driver side but for some reason they don't anymore for the passenger side. what's the reason for that? and where can i find the kit? or would it be easier to have someone bang on some metal with a hammer and whatnot to shape it to fit?

Will a cowl crack let water leak into the cab, onto the floor?

Here's a couple of pics with all the sheet metal on the truck. The first pic is of the passenger side. If you see the wire that is the antenna wire look right above that going side to side.

This is a pic of the one on the driver side, it is a little larger and is above the upper hinge.

I thought so, just wanted to double check. As I've been getting water on the drivers side floor and want to find it and fix it before the floor rusts through. So now its time to tear the fenders off.
