Core support rivets
Was changing oil today and noticed the big smooth head revets that hold the lower core support to frame are getting loose. Any remedies? Tack weld, bolts ??.

Are you are referring to the rivets that hold the front crossmember to the frame? Then the core support bolts to the crossmember?
I have seen a few of those rivets loosen up, or even fall off on trucks I have worked on. I have used a grade 8 bolt in there place before.
Just be careful to keep the head of the bolt as low as possible if it is the upper bolt. I say this as that bolt head kind of rests in a recession of the lower core support when installed.

Thats the ones. These are on the underside and the head faces the ground. Grade 8 and a nylock nut it is.. 1.2 million miles, guess they are wearing a tad..

When I did the 2wd to 4wd conversion on Patches I went with flange head nuts and bolts, fine thread and the nut was a stover lock nut. Not a fan of nylocks, they do have a tendency to loosen up with time, heat cycles and vibration.
