converter question
converter question
I know alot about stall speed in a gas truck but what about a diesel? I know it should be lower but how much lower. I finally got my tach hooked up over the weekend and not I have confirmed what I thought I was hearing. When I takeoff if I pust the tach to say 2000 it only looses like 50 rpm for every shift. Also at 40 mph if I step on it the tach will jump right to 1500 instantly then the truck will speed up from 40 to 55 and still no change in rpm. Iguess the converter is sloppy and I need a new one. Which one is the best bang for the buck? I have read and some say low stall but does anyone know the exact number I should shoot for?

I would call the places that sells converters and trans parts. Talk to them about your needs and wants. There are few mfg's of converters for our trucks anymore. So your looking at a small number of calls.
Give these guys a shout
