Coil Over on our front end ???
Has anyone ever done or even seen a coil over front end on our truck.
Plus I was wondering if I extend the springs on the rear (move the mounting point of the springs but not move the axle ) new springs of course. Would the travel and the ride be smoother ? any ideas ?

springs on the rear? you mean the shocks right? i dont see why you couldnt fab up something for either the front or rear i know someone with a 4link in the rear and half ton gear up front it sits 6inchs off the ground i mean anything is possible but i dont think they make a kit for it. I think it would be a home made deal
Good idea with the spring mounts- install longer springs for a better ride. Not sure if it's possible though. I do remember an article by Jim Lane about what he did to his rear springs to smooth out the ride on his dually. It's probably worth reading if you can search it out, I'm thinking it was probably a year ago.

I have a 1 ton 2009 that i am going to measure the springs on to see if there is any length difference .I know the newer truck springs are wider but i plan on using another Dana 80
2wdcumns247 --- Two part question yes I know i ramble longer spring pack in rear hopefully letting the rear axle travel a bit more ,I want to do a 6 inch lift but want the ride to be a tad bit smoother
in the front a coil over system like the newer trucks have
I doubt it will be cost effective but I have patients

Look at this "how to" its really nicely written up. Shackle flip
You can also use this method with any spring you choose, so long you keep the diff centered in its stock location. Also 4 grade 8 bolts is STRONGER than the stock rivets, shouldn't have a problem passing inspection.
