Cab mounts

So I’m in the middle of doing body work to my 1st gen. When I took the bed off I noticed that there was washers on one side to lift the bed up to match the body lines. I then noticed as I moved on to replacing the front two mounts and fixing the right rear was that on the driver side rear, there was about 5-6 washers above the bushing. On the passenger side rear there was about 2-3 washers above the bushing.

So so basically what I’m asking is does anyone know how many washers is standard, or if there is supposed to be any washers at all.

also got new prothane bushings for all 4 corners.

Thanks in advance.

Call me crazy, but to me your frame mount brackets are toast. (Rotted) bolts look bent

No washers on my truck that I have seen.

Btw, everyone who switches to polyurethane cab mounts regrets it. They're too stiff, they make the ride worse, and can cause metal fatigue on the cab where they sit.

Nice work on the bed

Yah, I know the mounts are toast. They are getting replaced. Truck is getting new mounts, cab corners, rockets and floors.

thanks for the heads up on the polyurethane bushings. I will look into getting the stock rubber ones

Rot is real bad in the front mount area/ floor. Gotta get it fixed now or the whole thing is going to crumble by the end of this winter.

Thought I heard some wind noise 🙄

Does anyone know where I can get some rubber cab mount bushings? I was going to use the polyurethane until NJTman brought up the rough ride.

i would just reuse the old ones after I put in the new mounts, but they are all cracked and dry rotted

There's a thread, or maybe it was on the 1st gen daily thread , where a guy here found that a jeep bushing works on our trucks.

Maybe someone can chime in, because I don't remember whom said it.

I don't believe you can find them listed for our trucks in the aftermarket or,from dodge. He,matched them up himself, and found they fit

This is the exact reason I immediately threw out my carpet when I bought my truck. I have removable mats that are easily pulled out, and allows the floors to dry out.

As good as your bed looks the cab body work should not b a problem for you .I put poly bushing on my truck I don’t c any different in the ride there ruff some might ride better than others but there still pretty stiff least all the 4wd s I had were .Ive never rode in a 2wd .I do here a slight squeaking sometimes if I find out it’s the bushing then I’ll probably use hockey pucks or make my own

Previous owner ripped the carpet out and layed down a rubber diamond plate mat across the whole floor(pretty easy to clean), but rather than fixing the floor, he just riveted sheet metal over the wholes in the floor....

Man that is quite the sag in those mounts, if that happen I bed the bolts twisted and shifted everything over. You sure the truck frame is straight?

No noticeable sag. I will have to measure it on a flat surface once it’s back together as I can’t move it now. Floor it’s sitting on gas quiet a slope for the drain in the floor, so I can’t go off of that

Kudos to you for saving that truck. Most folks would just buy another cab.

can't wait to see how all your welding and repair work comes out

The problem with the jeep mounts that member used, if I remember correctly, is that they are no longer available new in rubber either.
