Remember that the temp in front of the evaporator is probably lower. It was around 109 at the airport, but only 99 in front of my evaporator...Mark

Good evening everybody, I had a different mechanic look at my vehicle and he ended up Swapping out the compressor for a second time, flushed out the whole system with a solvent, vacummed the system for about two hrs and serviced my ac with r134 this time. Also serviced the compressor with ester oil. Long story short, same results as with r12 beforehand. Only cooled to about 64 degrees at the vents. I dont know what could be the problem.

My last post should say condenser, I don't know why I keep making that same mistake . Ok, did you replace the filter dryer with the compressor? Was it a new compressor? Did you replace the expansion valve? Is the site glass clear? Did he know what he was doing? R134A needs airflow across the coils, did you check the temp going down the road? They recommend a high velocity fan in front of the condenser when charging the air. It is very easy to over charge the system with R134A. Most new compressors void the warranty if you didn't replace the filter dryer along with it. Overcharging the system with 134A will cause temps to rise. How much oil did he put in?...Mark

The one i bought initially was a reconstructed one aswell as this one. When the first compressor was replaced they installed a new expansion valve and drier aswell as this time that r134 was used. 8 oz of pag oil were serviced i to the system.

Havnt cked the sight glass, that'll be till tommorrow, i was under the impression that the sight glass didnt count if servicing the system with r134??

It matters if it is clear, it is way over charged. That is why I asked. It should be cloudy. It should not be used when charging 134A, but old habits are hard to break...Mark

True, i guess i didnt make my self clear, i meant it didnt matter as far as servicing it until it clears, to my understanding only 85 percent of the 41 oz. are required for r134. But i'll double check in the am. Thanks

Are you sure there is absolutly no hot water flowing through the heater core, clamp off the hose with a pair of vise grips.

Even the best system has a problem cooling 180* tempered air.
