Brake rotor dust shield

Anyone know where to find a new dust shield to go behind my front left brake rotor. Mine got destroyed when the lower ball joint broke.

I didn't even bother to put mine back on, don't know where they went to though.

Do they really serve any purpose? Mine may go back on but it is rusted pretty bad. The one's on my '77 are like tissue paper.

Do you think they actually protect something or just for cosmetics?

Angry Johnny - any problems with not having yours on for the past year and a half?

Are you referring to the splash shield that goes behind the rotor and is made out of sheetmetal?
I was always under the impression they were to help cool the brakes by directing cool air into the rotors and help deflect water from being splashed onto the surface of the rotor
BTW They are called a Splash Shield in the parts list.

Ah, splash shield. That's what I was wondering, if they are functional or theoretical.
Don't seem to make 'em anymore...

I'll clean mine up and see how much longer they last.

I bought some new when I rebuilt my front axle 4-5 years ago, but I think I may have gotten one of the last sets out there.....have not seen them again since then and even when I randomly search for them from time to time I can't find any. From pics 2nd Gen ones look like they could be made to work.
