Brake failure
Hey all, my brake booster is leaking in the back (filled with fluid) and it's leaking from the master cylinder. I was looking for a new booster and master cylinder, I'm finding there is a 1inch and 3/4" sizes? What one should I get? This is a 91 W250 with a 4500 front end (dana 60).
just my luck

Anyone have a link or partnumber? The check valve is 3/4" and 1" is what I was talking about. It looks like what I have, I was planning to get rear disc brakes at some point so I don't know if I should go with a universal setup or stick with the stock.

I think I have a 3/4" check valve, will have to look tonight.
This looks like a good deal, although I never heard of cardone before

Cardone is garbage. Hate all their products, Used them all with horrbile results. LOL.
I usually buy Bendix or good name brand stuff off rockauto.com and just wait for it to get here.

I wouldnt cheap out on parts! I installed two rebuilt masters, and got two bad ones in a row. Finally put in a new one and the brakes are as good as they've ever been.

Bumping this back up, I'm having a hard time finding a brake booster. They're all A1-cardone crap.. I did find a few centric boosters but they have many different numbers. The only difference I can tell is the check valve is bigger. What does the check valve do? Would a 1inch give better performance to a 3/4"?

i am pretty sure A1Cardone is the only one re-manufacturing the boosters and A-lock valves. I cannot find anyone else...Mark

If you scroll down here; There are a bunch of centric's
http://www.drivewire.com/vehicle/199...brake-booster/
I've been using Centric rotors/pads for awhile and they're really nice! Although I don't know what one to get.

Just got off the phone with them. This is how it works.. you pull the brake booster out and on that push rod there is a code on it. Keep in mind that if the brake booster is not stock this might not work
Rod Code(s)
13849
14177
Centric Part# - 160.80.244
Rod Code(s)
13851
14180
Centric Part# -160.80.245
Rode Code 1"
14180
Centric Part# -160.80.250
If the rod code matches the above, then the booster you need is the part number below. Awesome! Looks like I have some work to do haha
Also this was for a 91 W250 but apparently those codes are what was used on the assembly line. They will work with a D250 as well as long as it's 1st gen series. If the code is different, give them a call (626.961.5775)
