blue smoke on cold start up
blue smoke on cold start up
Hey guys, its starting to get cold here now, in the mornings its about 30 degrees out, and i dont plug my truck in yet. the truck starts 1/4 crank all the time, but it hazes a little bit of blue smoke at idle, then a little more when i drive away. its not too much smoke, i was just wondering if this is normal?
thanks.
thanks.
Check the intake temp sensor (closest to the firewall) with a lest light and see if you have juice coming into it. If you also have juice coming out of it going down to the ksb then check the wire plug that plugs onto the ksb solenoid. The intake temp sensor gets it's power from the fuel shut off solenoid. My problem was a bad intake temp sensor. Replaced it and it works fine. Here's the tab that has all the info. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ht=ksb+problem
OK, well i have power to one side of my intake temp sensor. is this how it should be? i dont have power to the solenoid thou. i changed out that solenoid with another that i have, but still nothing. what should i check next?

OK, this is where im at. the sensor on the intake has power, on one side. Im assuming this is how it should be, and one side is a ground? when i disconnect the wire from the KSB tab, with the key on there is no power to the wire? should there be power there? also, the tab itself on the KSB does not have power with the key on? should this have power like the fuel shut off solenoid does? what should i check?
thanks
thanks
