Bedliner Brand Opinions

Hi Guys, I have just finished sealing the inside of all 4 of the Crew Cab doors for my conversion.

I plan on using a quart of bedliner material in each of the doors to replicate the tar that was sprayed on the inner skins in 84. I think it is/will be better than the thin dynamatt and similar materials. JMO.

I know a few have used a few different brands of the bedliner "Goop"and wanted your opinions on which is the thickest and has the best adhesion ?

Thanks for your input

Thickest and best ?

Pay Linex to do it. That's the thickest and best.

(if you find the right shop, that is)

A good shop will spend a minimum of 3-4 man hours prepping the bed. If they don't, it will peel off in sheets.... or so that's what the local guy pointed out.

Worth every penny I spent and here are the pix to prove it.

Hi NJT, Thanks for the info. But not doing the bed. They did do a super nice job.

I'm soundproofing the inside of the four doors and want to use some of the do it yerself bedliners. A lot of the guys were using the bedliner stuff like Lizard skin and some others to coat their floorpans as sound deadner. Was wondering who had had the best results

I use Lizard skin for inside sound and heat protection. It looks and feels just like bedliner. Summit Racing carries it.
My $.02

It goes on just like bedliner and is just as thick. A special undercoating gun is used, and Summit sells it also. It adheres just like bedliner as long as it is put on clean metal. Cleans up with water as long as it is cleaned up before setting. Also, the heat and sound deadening are two different Lizard Skin products.
I have it on my floorpans in the Dodge, my Samurai, and on the engine cover and seat areas of the Motorhome.

Hope this helps,
Mike

We had a Rhino liner on our '03 when we got it in '07 that was put on by the original owner. It did suffer some UV damage and discoloration, and would peel in small pills (think of how a sweater has those pills of material on them).

Our '06 was Line-X'ed by the original owner and shows no signs of pilling/peeling or UV damage, and once I do some more work to our '08 it'll get Line-X as well.
