Opinions on bedliner rocker panels....
Opinions on bedliner rocker panels....
I'm considering spraying my rocker panels with Durabak. I did my bed with smooth black durabak and it turned out really good. I did up some Photoshop pictures of the truck in black and gray. Opinions?

No Durabak

Black Durabak

Gray Durabak
I think I'm leaning towards the gray...

I would agree, grey is the color.
I had the rockers done on my Y2K (with Rhino), and I really liked it. I never had to worry about rock chips, and that road tar....just came right off.
My only complaint was their prep. Make sure that they do a REALLY good job taping/papering off your truck. Mine had over (under?) spray on the frame and many wire looms and cables on the underside of the truck. It was a real pain in the rear where it was on the parking brake cable.

The grey looks fantastic. Almost like a factory lower two tone. When I finally get around to painting my truck I will be doing the Rhino, but I will have the Dupont Imron White mixed into the compound to match the rest of the truck.
yea, deffinately grey, or go with rhino black and wait a few months and it will look grey! (as my sig says im not to partial with rhino
) anyways, that grey looks real good.
also good job at photoshop, you stayed in the lines very well

Well I will be spraying it on myself so the prep work will be done right. I'm not about to just glob some permanent rubber coating on my bodywork without doing it right. I learned a couple things while doing the bed, so I think it'll turn out OK. BTW, I don't think it'll fade. I got the UV protectant stuff for the bed and it still looks great after taking a weather beating this summer (though only 5 months worth).
trik396: My truck was SUPPOSED to be the mineral grey metallic but I had "issues" with the dealer and ended up with silver. I still like it
