Battery + IP = no power

i was driving down I-78 near Shartlesville Pa. (if you know that section it is rough) my truck just off and would not start. i saw smoke and sparks coming fomr under the hood. here my battery tray bolts snapped off( jsut a little rusty) and the battery positive terminal fell against the top of my IP and melted a good sized hole is the top cover. it is not melted all the way through but the truck doens't semm to have the same power when I started it again and it used to have heavy black smoke at start up then clear right away but now it has no smoke besides blue smoke continusly. Could the fuel cutoff seloniod be fried or is it something worse? The Truck:

1988 W100 Short Bed
1990 Non-IC 727 241 Drivetrain

Moved to the 1st gen forum for ya. Most likely get more responses here.

My theory is something may have gotten arc welded or fused together from the large amount of current that flowed though the IP. Might want to tear apart and rebuild it.

Is it leaking fuel? Can you post a pic of the damage?

If you have it on your computer you can post it as an attachment to your post.

Use the advanced reply instead of the quick reply, then scroll down to where it says "Additional options" and click on the button that says "Manage attachments".

I'm guessing the fuel cone diaphram is toast from the parts getting fused together. If the diphram is damaged, the AFC is not working. It will run just like it has a valet switch turned on plus have a boost leak.
