Battery

I feel pretty stupid, but where do I get a 1025 cca battery anymore? Last time it was at the mechanic, i had them put a battery in it right away. Gave me an 875, didn't cut it last winter.... Where can I get the right one, or a bigger one that fits in the stock location? Bout ready to use two 6volts in series. The engine would be running before you could release the key!

Have you looked into a dual battery setup? I had a hard time finding a 1000cca battery. Ive never seen a 1025cca on an local auto parts shelf, thats not saying they dont exist of course.

There is a thread about different dual battery setups somewhere around here. Try the search bar or the sticky.

Interstate 31P-MHD is 950 CCA @ 0 degrees. They also have a new part out called the 31-XHD that is 1000CCA however I haven't checked to see if its available in an automotive post or not. The 31-XHD has a threaded stud, I will check today and see if a 31P-XHD exists.

I have an Interstate 31P-MHD in my truck and its almost 5 years old.

Optima does make one big enough but its about $230 of the top of my head.

Got my Optima Blue Top here:

http://www.1st-optima-batteries.com/index.html

It's the D31M. 900 cca at 0* and 1125 cca at 32*. Works great for me anyway. Free shipping I think.

I just bought a Commercial Duralast with 950cca at Autozone for under $100. Worked out because I had just switched to post and its the only one here in Texas i could find above 850cca.

That's what I've been running here in Mi and without grid heaters I can't get off the key before she starts.
I hear one cylinder hit compression then I'm running.

However - I did remove the grid in Mar...This will be the first FULL winter.....
We'll see....

My dual battery setup - 2 Exide 78DT108s - produce a combined 1540 CCAs and spin the old girl quite nicely. They have a 40 month 100% replacement warranty and 5 year prorated warranty thereafter.
