While I don't recommend it, my truck had only a single rear type on the front and the little clip from the rear stuck in the cutout in the hub. I asked the original owner about it and he didn't remember. It was like that for at least 20 or 30 k miles before I figured out that it was wrong. It was really confusing trying to find out how to set pre-load set up like that. All that said, it is UNSAFE and should only be like that for a very short time..Mark

You need to be a little more clear.

Are you meaning to use this nut on the REAR ??

Do you mean to use a nut FROM THE FRONT on the rear ??

If you are meaning to use a single nut from a double-nut/folding-tooth-washer, then NO, unless you drive three MPH and check it every half-mile.

Wink >>> best to do things yourself <<<

While we are on the subject, NEVER take for granted that previous owners/mechanics did things right.

When we dis-assembled the front hubs on the son's truck, we found that some previous somebody had installed shiny brand-new folding-tooth lock-washers between the double-nuts and DIDN'T FOLD A SINGLE TOOTH.
