Automatic to manual swap question

I am trying to gather all the parts I need to swap my automatic to a nv4500. I was wondering if the backing plate is the same for the automatic and getrag. Thanks for the help

If you are talking about the plate on the back of the engine the answer is no. The auto and getrags are different and the nv4500 is a different plate also.

Actually, the plate is the same between Getrag and 518. I certainly didn't replace the plate when I did my swap. Now the bellhousing...that's a different story.

There are indeed two plates. One for G360 and 518/727, and the other for NV4500/5600 and 47RH/RE. The NV one is thicker and has a different starter mount than the earlier and thinner G360 one. Then there's aftermarket, which alledgedly combines the Gen 2 thickness with Gen 1 starter mounts.
cheers,
Douglas

you are correct 360 bell housing bolts to the same as the 518. Simple question too much read into it.

Thanks for the info guys. I should have been more descriptive. I am using a advance adapters conversion bellhousing, just wanted to make sure I didn't need a different backing plate.
