auto to standard
auto to standard
i have a 92 w250 extended cab. i want to junk the auto and convert it to a standard. i know i need clutch assembaly flywheel, pedal assembaly, slave and master cylinder plus line. i dont know can i use a nv 4500 or do i have to use the original 5 speed. do i have to cut drive shafts do i need to change cross member. any help would be nice thanks guys
You could use a NV4500 or even a NV5600, both are going to require a different bellhousing adaptor than the Getrag has. Your also going to need a NP205 transfer case from a manual trans with 29 spline input shaft or your going to have to buy the parts and put them in yours.
Drive shaft wise I think your going to have to lengthen the rear and shorten the front, I think the 5 speeds are shorter than the autos.
I'm not sure about the crossmember, but you are going to have to change the trans mount and if you go with a NV4500 or 5600 your going to have get creative with a trans mount.
