Need help on converting a auto. to standard

I was wondering if anybody knew someone or info. on how to convert a auto to standard. I would like a hand clutch on the shifter and the gas pedal also on the shifter. Reason being I am in a wheelchair. I seen a race car built like this years ago for a driver. He did all his shifting and throttle control from the shifter. I know this is kinda out in far left field but its been done. Anybody ever heard of this ? Is it clear as MUD ?

Sorry about that my brother has a 92 cummins, and the truck really has fallen apart he used the heck out of it. i was thinking about taking the motor and putting it in a f-350 dually and putting a standard behind it. I seen a race car driver years ago that had a standard in his race car everything on the shifter, throttle, brake ,clutch that way he didn't have to let go of the steering wheel.

You may be thinking of off-road legend Walker Evans' son. A motorcycling accident left him paralyzed from the waist down so he outfitted his race vehicle(s) with steering mounted controls. As far as I know he's still racing with that setup today. But ... I don't remember whether his race trux were automatic or manual. It's, obviously, alot more complicated to convert a manual to all-steering-wheel controls but I'm sure it can & probably has been done.

Sorry, but don't have any specific info on doing such a conversion but I suspect it will cost quite a bit. You might try looking for a handicapped vehicle conversion company as they might be able to do it or know someone who can.

Good luck.

Sorry I can't gelp you, but it sounds like an interesting conversion. I would be interested to hear how you do it. (presuming it works out, which I hope it does)

What kind of controls do you have for the brake and throttle on the truck you have now?

Graeme, I have 1 control that works the brake peddle and the go peddle. Push in on the control towards the dash and it works the brake. Pull down toward your knee it works the go peddle.

Exclamation there is a way to drive a manual transmission with hand controls

look on benefical designs. com they have a way using motorcycle throttle with the clutch disengaging when you twist clockwise and the throttle engages when it is twisted counter clockwise this is mounted on regular hand controls.i intend to mount mine (clutch and throttle) on my gearshift with a motorcycle type brake on the steering wheel so i wont ever have to take my hand off the wheel.i hope this helps you or someone. i will try to put a more detailed discription when i complete the installation.
