being a Auto you will either have to get a different t case or mod your's for stick shift {input shaft need's to be bigger I wanna say 23 spline ? }then you will have to find pedal's you would be ahead in the long run to buy a part's truck rob all the stuff you need an sell the rest

Either a 29 spline T case, a 23-29spline adapter ($159 somehwere), or a 2wd tranny with a divorced T case. 2nd gen starter, 2nd gen adapter plate (Between the bellhousing and engine), maybe tranny mounts, pedals, 2nd gen hydraulics. Probably have to have the driveshaft shortened/ front lengthened?

Advanced Adapters has kits IF you truck was a Getrag already. Includes bellhousing that uses your original starter, original hydraulics, transmission mounts, and maybe something else!

You just need to do some searching on all the cummins forums and read read read. All the info you need is there. Then, when you have informed questions, you can come back and ask them.

Ditto on the parts truck. By far the best way to go.

I searched a bit and found thet the dodge 4500 has the same bolt pattern regardless if it's gas or diesel, i just put a gas 4500 in my 88 which had a 518 auto with the AA kit without major issues , i had to modify the trans mount a little though

Why not just go with a Getrag? Stock tranny, no fitment issues, everything bolts up already, and one isnt any worse than the other- they both have issues. Plus, the Getrag runs on regular ol engine oil, not liquid gold Syntorq.

That's a good point...and with the aftermarket coming along in the last few years with all the parts to keep the old getrag going, it's cheaper and easier then going to the NV4500.
