auto to manual swap
I am swaping my 518 to the nv 4500. is the adapter plate for the auto going to work with the advanced adapters bell housing or does it have to be for the getrag. another question is that i think the output shaft for the auto is 23 splines and the nv's is 29 is that right and if so is there a crossover sleeve. if anyone has done this any advice is great.

Ohhh, you're in for alot of money and or searching, mostly both. You will need a 205 t-case from a getrag truck, it's a 29 spline. The two cases are machined differently with the 23 spline having a smaller input bearing and front bowl. If you want to use your auto 205 t-case you will need a few things. The input shaft itself runs $400-$500, not sure on the sleeve, front bowl, bearing, and machine work required, let alone if your local machine shop is up to the task or willing to do it. Good luck finding a 29 spline getrag 205.
Can't remember on the adaptor plate. I 'think' they are the same on 1st gen trucks, not on newer.
