Has anyone run across this, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33553 ? Saw it on "another" board, hey Smoky, looks like infringement! The machining looks kinda rough, wonder if it`s hardened?
This is looking like something Smokey needs to make a decision on. If he spent money and time to develop his product, even if there's not a patent filed, maybe he can play the "prior art" card and go after people copying his design (if his is quite different than a stock part and there's is a copy of his design). He's definately first to market this item, correct?
We can start by letting people know that these items are 'copies' or 'immatations' if they closely resemble his design.
Can anybody describe the modification to the pin design? Is it unlike the original pin or does it just have a different depth to the cut out?

Well I'm running Old Smokys "pin" and it sure looks like mine!!! I wonder where they got the additional 35 hp? Mike you might want to look at this eccentric. I met these guys back in October and they seemed OK to me but this makes me wonder.

It does look a little rough cut.Seems to me that that needs to be real smooth. But maybe Smokeys pin is like that and I never noticed.I think I would prefer to give Old Smokey my coins.I would be interested to hear more on this though.75 ponies????
Very crude looking. I haven't seen the ole smoky pin but I would think that the riding surfaces would be polished. That thing looks like a high school metal shop student on crack made it.

The old smokey pin works great. It has made much more use of the power besides adding the extra power. My truck jumps off the line better now and from mid-range on up, it pulls much better. Boost jumped up to 42 lbs also from my 36 lbs before. That didn't hurt at all. I didn't take a really close look at it when installing it but I believe it was MUCH smoother then the eBay one. Besides, I would rather buy from someone that a lot of people (DTR & TDR) know compared to an eBay purchase, keep the money local to friends if possible. Smokey knows his stuff and I trust those types of judgements compared to the 'High school kid on crack'

That thing looks only slightly more refined than the fuel pin in my truck. The PO ground a 45 degree flat into the deep side to make it deeper. Makes plenty of power, but the fuel comes on too quick at low boost so you can't tune the smoke out.
I e-mailed the guy who makes those and he said it was a error on how much power they make.He said he will update it tonight. So,look if you have time tonight and see if it changes to a lower hp number.
