You owe it to yourself and your truck by getting the Goodyear 'Gatorback' belt. Good belt, quieter, last longer than ribbed belts and also eliminates the belt chirp at shutoff.. if you don't care for that sound, some do. It can be had from Autozone. Don't have the pn handy, but it can be found on their website.

Whaaat?
I am as proud of the CHIRP as I am of the CUMMINS name on the side of the fender.

You won't hear any Powerstroke or Duramax engines making their own distinctive sound as it comes to rest, only CUMMINS.

Just kidding..

Incase you need it; here is the belt routing diagram for our 1st gen. engines.

Thanks, i had it fiqured out but at first i didnt think the ribbed part of the belt would ride on the tensioner, oh well would have just thought the smooth side would had. Thanks. Ive now got several diff. #'s for belts and all seem to be diff. lenghths? Napa- #25-080645, #K080653, #4080652. Either way if the last numbers are length thier close at around 65" [ w/o a/c ]. Thanks again

just kidding no offence meant, thanks for the tidbit of knowledge...thats interesting, never knew that about the 1st gen's...it isnt like that on the 2nd and 3rd gens or is it? Is the PS pump mounted on the timing cover? Driven off the cam or crank?

sorry mods if this is off topic...axe it

1st and 2nd gen it's driven off the cam gear. P/S pump mounts on the back of the timing cover, and the vaccum pump is piggy-backed to it. (highly technical term, eh?)

3rd gen uses a belt.
