Star wheel spring.

I bought a 1992 cummins to replace the 90 non ic motor and i was putting my puel pin, injectros etc in and i went to put the pin in and the spring that sits on the star wheel is gone. Will that affect how is runs? will it even run enoguh to drive the truck or should i get a spring even befor i bother trying to start the engine. Thanks

are you talking about that spring that looks like a soft valve spring below the cap?

your fuel pin will be at full fuel all the time if you dont have that spring. it should run "okay" it just might hurt your wallet on the diesel prices.

If you pull a trailer it will smoke like a steam train and run high EGTs as well.

like people have been saying, it will run, but smoke like a trian. As soon as you build a pound or two of boost the fuel pin will go all the way down to the full fuel position because the spring is not there to hold it up.

It's not much different than removing the afc. Just not as fuelly.
