I just tighten one handed with my 1/4 drive ratchet. Put a little loctite on the threads, and I've had no problems. Seems like ~30-35ft-lbs sticks in my head, though I am likely off on that.

Sounds about right. Loctight is the important part on those.

heh little to cold to be worrying about loctite today I need new bolts so just tightened them down and try get some shop time ... Thank you for the response

Here is the cool part minus 30 c and jumped to -10 c pardon the punk **** block heater and the oil pan heater dont work so i cycled grid twice and danged if the old critter didn't fire right up. needless to say putting the drive shaft on was probably the quickest I have ever done one think it to 3 minutes

I looked it up. Its 170 "INCH" pounds.

So if 12 inch pounds equal one foot pound; 170/12=14.166 foot pounds which sounds about right for a 1/4 inch bolt.

Slowly tighten untill you feel the threads strech then stop.....
