Anyone Ever Do Air Ride Seats?

Anyone ever stick air-ride seats in the cab? True air rides, like the big trucks have. If so, where did you get them? I seem to be having trouble finding seats other than those for semis, which I am pretty sure will be too tall.

I figured the semi seats would be too tall, but that's not the case? Well ya, that makes it easy then. :-)

i was thinking the same thing, to tall. I know the seats we have in our fire trucks would be way to tall. you would have to wear a hardhat to protect your head from the roof if you were to put them in.

it would be real nice though

Medium duty cabover trucks often have low profile air ride seats.

Bostrom makes a very nice low profile seat that I have had my eye on. Thought maybe if I went to air ride my wife might get in my truck.

Like a wrecked Penske/Ryder truck? I know those have air rides in them (well the last one I rented did, anyway) and it was oh so nice.

Probably the seats out of a GMC Topkick or a Ford F Series would be lower as they use pickup style cabs.Look for a single axle tractor in either of those trucks to be sure to find the air system.

I have a 93 Ford L8000 dump truck that has narrow, low back, air ride seats.

No, no, you rent a truck when you want something to abuse and don't want to fix. The reason for renting that truck was I had 12 skids of old telephone books to haul to the scrap buyer in Knoxville, TN. Mind you, these were not normal skids which weigh 2,000# each. These were 12 skids that I had condensed 18 skids down into and stacked about six feet high and re-wrapped. A gross weight violation to the umpteenth degree, (my weigh ticket at the scales at the mill was nearly 35K net and you are only supposed to put 12K in cargo in the Penskes to still be legal) but that's why god gave us CB radios and county highways is to avoid DOT and weigh stations. Was a good haul for me, then I had something going back out of Nashville, was not nearly as heavy. When I turned the truck back in, I noticed it was leaning to the driver side a little... sure enough, buggered up a leaf spring somewhere. Opps. You rent a truck when you want to make the repairs someone else's problem.

I have been thinking about this for a long time. Here is the best option I have found to date...

Height is going to be the biggest limiting factor, this one should do it. There are also some other options that could work from National.
