Anyone Ever Do Air Ride Seats?
The lowest air rides seats I have seen are the passenger side seats used in the 9600 series IHC semi's. The passenger side seat sets on top of the heater/AC box. These seat bases from no air to full height is around 4" of lift. It has a flat bottom mount.
I have been thinking about this for a long time. Here is the best option I have found to date...

Height is going to be the biggest limiting factor, this one should do it. There are also some other options that could work from National.

Hmm, that sounds like that could work well... 4" of travel is not much... since we wont have a heater box parked under it... I guess I need to go on the prowl for those seats.
70 Imperial power seats
I put a power seat track from a 1970 Imperial in mine on the drivers side and transferred the manual track on the passenger side. I only had to redrill the two rear holes 1.5" back on the driver's side base and run 12volt power and ground fused. Fully adjustable but I do find it much taller to sit in.
years ago i bought a pallet of used air ride seats for the state of oregon surplus on ebay for 70 bucks had at least 6 complete seats and parts. some tall back and a couple of short back seats. sold two for 50 each, one is set to go into my swather one other is in a field sprayer and i think i have two left with bad upholstery.

I definitely wouldn't try to work with a regular big-truck type air ride seat. The low profile ones might be better anyway, the ones in our buses have an air spring and shock absorber, but I keep them up pretty high and they're still too bouncy for my taste. It takes out the jolts but it also sends you bouncing all over, which I assume is a design problem. I think it'd work better if the air spring was adjustable just for spring rate, and something else adjusted the height, maybe.
For example: There's a driveway that if I come out of it in an air ride seat, I have to brace my legs to keep the seat from slamming up and down. If I'm in a plain old solid mount seat, it's just a bump.

true dat
i has a suspension seat in my toyota land cruiser, works on a frame with a spring and shock absorber to adsorb teh bounce, you set the spring to your body weight, and if you want no suspension absorption you flick a lever and the seat becomes rigid.
i only use the seat on real rough roads and for off roading and not so much on the highway.
