If you substitute the word "baby boy" for "truck" you'd think we are all "proud papas" with the way we describe getting our first diesels!!!!

Thumbs and SteamDave are both the original owners of their respective trucks. Dave's was a leftover that he bought in '94.

My dad was the original owner of my truck bought in April of 1993. Im not exactly sure, but i believe he payed around 26,000 for it or that might have been the sticker price. Now it has 283,000 miles.

Well I am surley not the only owner of my 91.5 it looks like it's seen about 25 owners!! But my dad did buy a new 93' in 94' because nobody wanted the "old" looking trucks after the gen II's came out, I think it was around august of 94' and he paid around 19,000 for a 93" D250 Auto club cab 4.10 w/posi, but then do to hard times he sold it in 97' for 12,000 and it still looked brand new plus had some exterior mods to it like running boards and cap and sunvisor and only had 24,000 miles on it!

After his death in '98, I was given the truck because I ended up doing the work on his farm. The farm is now sold, but the truck lives on. I love the truck for its simplicity, stableness, and power - not to mention comparative economy. Interesting to note, because my father in law liked to travel and sell and deliver silage bags, my mother in law put an image of the truck on his grave marker oposite a image of a John Deere - which represented farming, his other love.
Thats an excellent story. Thats the kind of sentimental value that will never allow you to sell the truck! Sounds like you in it for the long run!

I think all of you original owners should add that to your signature, I have never been the first owner of any of the 30 or so vehicles I have owned.

2nd owner

I purchased my D250 on May 31, 03 for $7k from the original owner. He had 171k on it. Today it has 204k. He gave the all the paperwork including the window sticker: $27,852.48!
He bought it for $21K cash.
I am constantly being pressured to sell it. I just might have to let her go since my family is growing and I need 2 more doors!
Hummmm....2k6 megacab dually 4x4? yep, on order....4 more weeks!!!!!

My dad bought his '90 d250 in '89, gave a little over $16,000, some what over 300,000 miles later it is still on the farm, rarely get it on the road any more, just use it around the farm. He has since replaced it with an '02 qc ctd, for his daily driver.
