Air ride
I first put the front together with the bags that came with the airlift over the spring kind of set up I think they where 5 1/2" it took around 80 psi to lift the front end with no engine or nose on the truck so I bought the one that are on it now I forget of the top of my head but they are around 8 3/4" it lifts it up much easier now the problem was it hit the bottom out bump stop so it had to be moved over the bag it self has one in it but I felt safer with the factory on there also I had some billsteins that I bought on my donor truck that where fairly new and I did not feel like buying new ones with the better mounting set up so that's why they are there they are just flipped upside down to make it work out a little better the upper shock plate it 1/4" it has bin gusseted since the picture was taken the lower mount is a heim joint bolted on to a tab coming off the lower arm
Would you have anything to gain by moving the front spring mount forward? My Crew is a long box so I have tons of room and I didn't know it that would help improve ride or just throw geometry out of wack.

so what are you gonna do about axle wrap?
our trucks have a lot of torque and from what I see it looks like you are gonna only have the steel bars and u bolts to stop that? are you sure that is enough?

Air Ride
Do you mind me asking how you determined what thickness steel to use? Just starting to build/design a set up like yours, for the rear suspension.A local shop has 2x4x3/16 tubing for cost.The big difference will be using 10 1/2 inch bags.Planning on fabing a bridge from trailing arm to trailing arm,bushings on both ends where it attaches to the arms. That will put the bags inboard to mount to top of frame for more room.

I'm not to worried about axle wrap I think the bar should work like a big ladder bar the weak point would probably be the U bolts but they are new 5/8 stuff or the tubing crushing but I don't think my stock pump is going to do that I used 2 x 3" 1/4" wall tube mainly because I had it the stock spring pack and arch ended up being about there I did not want to make the truck sit to high I thought about putting the bags inside but I think it might get in the way of the spare tire and the tail pipe I moved the lower bump stops to work but I did not have any extension stops and quickly found out that the bags will over extend if aired up to high and not roll back together right I was going to put a chain to stop it but did not want to listen to it jingling all the time so I made a steel cable I wanted to test it so I figured I will pump up the bags and see what happens it usually sits around 40 psi with a bed full of junk at around 100 psi it bent the 3/8 plate form under the bag after that it had to come all back apart and straightened out in a press and gusseted underneath the moral of my story is build it heavy a one 10.5" bag at 100 psi will put out like 8660 pounds of force I think the track bar will have rubber bushings maybe this weekend
I have bin working on a 85 d350 crew cab that one of these days is going to be getting my 92's cummins drive line. Any way I want the truck to have air ride all around I got the back end almost done. It is kind of a copy of the road tamer stuff. I still need to make a track bar and some stops so it will not over extend but its getting there.
Hi, I was wondering if you had more pictures of this project that you were working on? Also, did you ever complete this project.? Wondering what type of tubbing did you use? Square tubing? What was the thickness of the tubing that you used? I would like to see how it all came out if you completed the project?

I'd suggest adding a second tab on the other side of the heim at the lower end so the bolt is in double shear.
